Tip #18: It is easy to sometimes get hyperfocused on learning about your ADHD. There are a lot of books, websites, and resources that offer tips and advice. Fact! Simply reading and listening about how to manage ADHD will not help. You must DO something! All that information coming at you can be so overwhelming, that you won’t even start.
Learning to manage ADHD is not an overnight task and trying to make it one is setting yourself up for failure. Start with realistic goals in mind and take some small steps. Set yourself up for success, and more success will follow.
From what ever ADHD book you are reading, or resource you are gathering tips from, choose one thing to implement into your life. Once you have a handle on that one change, then focus on the next. You will be much more likely to be successful and less overwhelmed by the management process.
